what are you doing new years eve?

i've seen so many posts about this already
but since i ♥-it so much, i also had to share

here's to
"what are you doing new years eve?"
by zooey deschanel & joseph gordon-levitt

i really love both actors individually
also loved them together in 500 days of summer
now this?
yeah.. ♥-ing it!!!

so what are your plans for the nye?
i would love to hear from you-

as for me...
nothing crazy but still excited to be spending it with family & friends :)

that's it for today-
from "happilyfull-on-life"

cupcake & milk

hello everyone!
it's almost the end of this year & i am so excited!

it is STILL the time of eating . . . or feasting i shall say,
and everyone is STILL gaining few more pounds than they wish
but that is the joy of the holiday season!

so today's topic is on dessert!
or  more like cupcakes & milk to be exact
as i want to have a sweet end to my rough 2011

i am definitely a big fan of cupcakes
whether it be eating them or collecting cupcake-shaped things

from so many yummy cupcake shops out there,
today's post is on perhaps the most famous shop that started in beverly hills: sprinkles cupcakes

i must admit, there is another cupcakery in los angeles that i love even more than sprinkles
but sprinkles is still de-li-ci-ous
& they offer variety of great flavors from the usual--red velvet, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, carrot, black and white--to a more unique flavors like orange, pumpkin, chai latte, ginger lemon...etc
you can find all the flavors of the day right here

since they are known for long long lines, especially on weekends, so you can get past all that craziness by easily ordering online
in addition, sprinkles now offers online ordering for pickup in 2hrs or delivery within 4hrs

also, having the heroine of the show gossip girl blake lively's
s'mores cupcakes for charity which will hit the stores in january
will be an added bonus for the fans or anyone who wanted to try a new flavor
for more news on this, you can check us weekly's article!

now, the perfect match for sweet cupcakes = milk!
i am sure no one will argue with me that the best drink to have with the sweetness of cupcakes is none other than our healthy cup of cold milk!

from all the milk contenders out there, my favorite is broguiere's farm
i actually did not know i could visit them in montebello, so that will be on my list of things to try ;)
so do i just love the packaging or do i actually think it taste better? BOTH!
broguiere's milk taste really fresh & yummy and the packaging really does make a difference too!
plus, being able to use the bottles as props or as a vase with daisies is the extra perk of these milk bottles!

& since we are on the subject of milk, i would also like to share some more amazing milk bottles i found on pixelclouds on creative packaging in seling nature's dairy
here are few on that list i thought were worthy of mentioning

shroederthe use of the words one, two, whole, and skim each scaled reflect
the fat level of the milk, this packaging was designed by capsule
organic farmthis was designed by lindsay perkins,
it was inspired by a small, local, organic farm in rural maine.
calpismade in japan originally from 1922
forest-milkdesigned by rise design office, the tree graphic reflects the typography
nominated for a japanese 2009 good design award
julien de repentignyhe describes the idea to be "an experiment in cardboard packaging,
as well as communication"
blue moo, designed by dan kunitz
the idea is that older children would be attracted to the milk as it is

packaged in a more adult style packaging
feez, designed by hvingtquatre
they describe the design to be "the milk adorns the packaging,

the tasty fruit is brought out on the milk and on the opening that
enables the drinking"
bon vivant, designed by alvaro rubio,
"bon vivant" means a person who enjoys the good things in life,

especially good food and dink

the boiling crab

i don't know why, but i've been craving seafood after revisiting one of the yummiest seafood spot in las vegas (post to come soon!)

so . . . today we are going to feast on seafood with the boiling crab

for those of you who don't know about the boiling crab,
they mainly serve louisiana style seafood with cajun seasonings in a plastic bag which you can spread out on your table & start eating with your bare hands ;)
not only does it taste really good and addicting, it's also a fun experience!
so shall we start?

lalala~ look at this cute crab!

warning: the wait is LONG. the wait will be LONG
yup. average wait being ~1hr
but, it will be worth it when you finally sit down to chow down

you can find different types of crabs, crawfish, lobster, clams to shrimps
as well as corn on the cob, sausages, potatoes you can add in the bag
and also order side of sweet potato fries, fried calamari, cajun wings and so forth
here is the detailed menu you can check out

personally my favorite at the boiling crab is the shrimps with the whole sha-bang! which includes rajun cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter seasonings in medium spicy because  although i sometimes suffer the after-math of spicy food, i like the kick yet i won't be able to handle xxx level

see my signature smiley face with the bow?
that is me. ready to be happilyfull

your hands will get messy & smelly for a bit and it might even sting if you have cuts in your hands,
but you will enjoy having a bib over your shirt, hands dirtied up while eating with your friends

there are now many different locations but fyi, based on the 3 different locations i've checked out, some actually tasted noticeably different

i am now happilyfull ♥
see you on my next adventure!

traditional korean tea house

it's almost the end of the year
& i am so excited that 2012 is right around the corner!

but since it is "winter" . . .  even in sunny southern california,
i've been drinking lots of tea (even more than usual) to keep myself warm

when drinking tea in the cold weather, my favorite part actually might be just holding onto the mug with my hands!
i know, i know . . . it sounds weird, but i recommend that you try it
because it feels good to have that warmth while your body is still cold

now that i've expressed how i enjoy drinking tea during the cold season,
i would like to share my favorite place to go for some tea-

named "hwasunji" & located in koreatown in los angeles,
this traditional korean tea house serves only the REAL teas ; none of those teabags are allowed
and i can confidently recommend that you will find one of the best teas here which you won't find elsewhere! i also love that they list the benefits of each tea which can help you to decide when ordering
not only does this tea house offer amazing tea selections that taste great, the atmosphere is just so adorable! it is kept very traditional & overall, pretty quiet which i prefer
(since they don't have a website, look for more info on hwasunji on yelp)

i've actually been here few times the days
but never quite appreciated it as much as i do now!
but after re-discovering this tea house few months ago, i just couldn't get enough!
i actually went back every other day for 3 times straight at one point when i live at least 40min away from this tea house
. . . and because i talk about this place so much, a lot of my friends have been asking me about hwasunji & EVERYONE i've recommend the tea house to have been loving it!

getting delicious & healthful teas
+ complementary korean crackers & hot barley tea
+ experiencing korean tea house atmosphere (especially if you opt to sit down on the wooden floor)
= worth every penny

so! do check out this tea house if you are in the area-
and it is a great idea that you ask the owner lady for recommendation if you are not sure of what to order or if you want specific tea for health reason, because she is very knowledgeable

also, you might just find me there drinking tea there
because this is the first place that pops up in my head whenever i am in the area ;)

i am now happilyfull ♥
see you on my next adventure!
